Black Myth: Wukong’s Physical Edition Won’t Have A Disc

Game Science has a chance to ensure Black Myth: Wukong makes its own mark on the genre, and it looks to be taking this opportunity with both hands. Footage of various boss fights shown so far has revealed some unique and exciting-looking battles, including one against the fearsome tiger vanguard, and another against an ivory-colored dragon that takes place against a backdrop of snowy mountains. It’s likely that there will be more shown off over the coming months as Black Myth: Wukong ‘s Summer 2024 release draws nea

Of the many upcoming games featured at this year’s Gamescom, fans of the Soulslike genre likely have been watching Black Myth: Wukong more closely than the rest. Since its initial reveal back in 2020, the action RPG, set in Ancient China and based on the famous novel Journey to the West , has piqued the interest of many gamers due to its unique style and aesthetic. While Soulslikes have become much more common in a post- Elden Ring world, many of them struggle to capture the essence of what makes FromSoftware’s Soulsborne collection so special. It’s early to say whether Black Myth Wukong news|https://blackmythwukongfans.Com/ Myth: Wukong is able to achieve what so many others have failed to do, but one area in which the game has a strong chance to rival any of FromSoftware’s titles is its enemy des

Wukong also doesn’t have a parry, so dodging is your only means of avoiding damage. There are different kinds of dodges, though. One of the stances allows you to climb on top of your staff and sit there out of range while the boss leaps around, then leap off the staff and come down on the fiend’s head with one big strike. That will work against some bosses, but more commonly you’re just expected to dodge, dodge, and dodge ag

I haven’t played Elden Ring, but I played two hours of Wukong earlier this month, and these long combos look very familiar. I took on four bosses during the preview and every one of them came at me with the same long strings of attacks that were difficult to read and almost impossible to dodge. Dodging early or late was almost certain death as the attacks just kept coming, and even when I managed to avoid the entire barrage, the opening to retaliate was much smaller than I would have liked. For most fights the cadence was: Boss lunges across the arena and makes five sweeping attacks at me, and if I perfectly avoid all of them, I’m allowed to respond with two light attacks, three at the m

A year ago, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor made waves when its physical copy included the disclaimer «Download Required» , something that’s sadly become more common . The disc included only partially held the game’s file size, with a download needed to complete the rest. It was a major hit for game preservation purposes, and it looks like Black Myth: Wukong will suffer the same fate, at least in the interim.

Another notable aspect of this art design that really sets Black Myth: Wukong apart from its contemporaries is its clear inspiration from older Chinese mythological artwork, specifically Buddhist artwork. Journey to the West is a story with roots in Buddhist folklore and with a strong Buddhist message, things that Black Myth: Wukong wears on its slee

I’ve been watching a lot of Elden Ring clips this week, especially the ones that include commentary about the player feeling frustrated or demoralized. What I’m seeing most often is bosses that chain together multiple attacks that force you to dodge with perfect timing over and over. It feels like you should be rewarded with an opening to counter attack when you time a dodge perfectly, but Erdtree’s bosses like to dance around, striking repeatedly, and force you to dodge three, four, sometimes five attacks in a row before you have a chance to coun

I’m not trying to talk anyone out of playing Wukong (though I do recommend you at least inform yourself about the allegations of discrimination and harassment at Game Science ). It’s a Soulslike through and through and I expect it will be popular with fans of the genre. But if Erdtree is too hard for you because the bosses are relentless, I’m sorry to say it, but Wukong isn’t going to treat you any ni

Black Myth: Wukong was first seen nearly four years ago with a 13-minute pre-alpha gameplay video, and since then the game has maintained a steady course of popularity throughout development. Created by Chinese developer and publisher Game Science, Black Myth: Wukong is a narrative Soulsike RPG based loosely on a novel called Journey to the West , in which players take the role of a Monkey soldier inspired by Sun Wukong, or the Monkey King. As the «Destined One,» players will journey across vast landscapes inspired by Chinese mythology, wielding powerful weapons and magic as they battle through fierce enem

As a casual bystander, the Elden Ring discourse is puzzling to me. Evidently, Shadow of the Ertree is really hard and some people are pretty frustrated about it. My social media is filled with complaints, I’ve seen a few streamers having meltdowns about, and Asmongold quit playing it, saying he could beat it if he wanted to, but it’s so hard that it’s not
