Baldur’s Gate 3: Every Druid Subclass, Ranked

By putting three levels into the Sorcerer class as a Warlock, players unlock the powerful Metamagic system and two charges, which can greatly improve the class’ ability to deal damage with Eldritch Blast .

Being one of the most versatile Classes in Dungeons & Dragons , it makes sense for players enjoying their Baldur’s Gate 3 playthroughs to want to try expanding their initial Bard setups. In situations where a Bard needs to pack more combat or utility options, Multiclassing them seems an ideal route to maximize their efficiency. In this regard, ideal Multiclass options include:

In addition to everything you unlock while leveling as a Warlock, your Subclass also determines what you unlock at certain levels. As a Warlock, you can select a subclass at Level 1, in the character creation menu.

The Lunar Mend ability allows the Druid to spend their spell slots to heal themselves while transformed, allowing them an alternative use for their spell slots and helping them to stay transformed longer. This heals 1d8HP per level of the spell slot used, meaning that players can burn higher-level spell slots to heal more if necessary.

Paladin: As a Paladin, a Bard with access to Heavy Armor and Smites can transform them into capable tanks and frontline fighters. While they don’t get many Spells compared to other Classes, a Bard who wants to take a more straightforward role in combat while still getting the occasional Spell won’t go wrong with this Holy Warrior.

Since the Spore Druid can perform quite a bit of necromancy already, it’s well worth tracking down the book «Necromancy of Thay» during Act 1 to unlock its secrets. Finishing the book will take until Act 3, but results in a ton of extra undead minions in combat.

Action Surge: Having another Action to use even once per Long Rest lets the Bard do various things. That extra burst of utility can give the team a chance to escape, or that last bit of strength can secure a killing blow to a boss.

Each of Baldur’s Gate 3 ‘s available classes provides different abilities to the character, both in combat and when exploring the world, and subclasses are a way of further diversifying a character’s skills and capabilities. With a few exceptions, each class has three subclasses to choose from.

The Sorcerer pairs best with the Noble or Sage Backgrounds because they will naturally trigger Inspiration moments more often. Nobles get proficiency in History and Persuasion, and tend to trigger inspiration when performing noble, heroic acts (or literally engaging with the nobility of Baldur’s gate 3 Tips Gate and beyond).

As a Level 11 Fighter, players can attack three times in a single turn, but by putting one point into barbarian, they can attack four times minimum every turn – as long as a bonus action isn’t used for another ability.

Slippery Chain Shirt (13 AC + DEX, Medium Armour, Uncommon): This medium Armour in the Festering Cove (Act One) is one of the best first pieces of gear to acquire with the moderately armed feat. Its auto-disengage on a heal incentivizes sub-support builds for Bards, allowing them to heal from the frontlines without the risk of becoming targets.

As you level up in one of these BG3 Fighter subclasses, you will gain more abilities that are unique to your subclass choice. Your choice of Fighter subclass can be changed by speaking with Withers, but you will start at Level 1 and have to make your BG3 Fighter build from scratch.

Karlach : Best suited for the Berserker subclass, Karlach is capable of dealing some of the most consistent, highest-hitting melee attacks on her own, and with two supports you won’t be at a loss for HP or dispels

Naturally, as a spellcasting-focused Druid subclass, the Circle of Stars Druid will also benefit greatly from most of the equipment we recommended for the Circle of the Land Druid. Spell Save DC-boosting items like Melf’s First Staff, the Cloak of the Weave, and Markoheshkir can be incredibly useful to the Circle of the Stars Druid, making it harder for enemies to resist their spells.

If you are dead set on including a character in your party, simply talk to Withers to respec them to one of the optimal Rogue companion classes listed above. This way, you won’t miss out on that character’s questline, and you won’t have to suffer from an improperly balanced party.

At Level 1, Second Wind grants a Bonus Action Self-Heal ability once per combat, then at Level 2, players get an Action Surge to grant an extra Action once each combat. Later on, Fighters gain better Saving Throws, Extra Attacks, and Fighting Styles, too.

Gloomstalker Rangers are, like Rogues, masters of stealth combat with a unique set of abilities and sneaky ways to maneuver the battlefield – but it doesn’t have access to Sneak Attack. By multiclasing into the Gloomstalker subclass as a Rogue, players are able to take advantage of Sneak Attack alongside the Gloomstalker’s powerful stealth abilities.

In addition to everything you unlock while leveling as a Sorcerer, your Subclass also determines what you unlock at certain levels. As a Sorcerer, you can select a subclass at Level 1, in the character creation menu.
