Baldur’s Gate 3: Best Fighter Subclasses
The Tempest Domain is granted by gods with power over storms and the skies. They get «Wrath of the Storm» at level one, allowing them to spend their reaction to deal lightning damage to an attacker. If the attacker fails their saving throw against «Wrath of the Storm» they also take some thunder damage. They also get proficiency with heavy armor and martial weapons to help them in getting closer to foes and allow them to act as more of a frontline fighter than other clerics do.
The hype for Cyberpunk 2077 was through the roof before its launch, with the marketing push being truly massive. Attaching the name of Keanu Reeves and showing off some truly amazing gameplay led everyone to think that this game would be a true next-gen title that would push the gaming industry to a whole new level. So, it was rather disappointing that a mix of cut content and unfinished development led to the legacy of Cyberpunk 2077 being tarnished for g
Much like the Battle Master, the Eldritch Knight benefits greatly from the Helldusk Armour, Boots, and Helmet. They can also make great use of the Helldusk Gloves, which add fire damage to your weapon attacks and a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and spell save DC. They also grant +1 to Strength saving throws and allow you to cast Rays of Fire once per short rest, adding a useful ranged attack to your kit. These gloves can be acquired by killing Haarlep in the House of Hope. The Reaper’s Embrace Armour looted from Ketheric at the end of Act 2 is a great alternative to the Helldusk Armor, offering incredible defensive utility without needing to fight Raphael for it. You could also use the Armour of Perseverance, which can be purchased from Dammon the Blacksmith if he survives all the way to Act Baldur’s Gate 3 Updates.
Level seven offers «Dominate Beast» and «Evard’s Black Tentacles,» allowing them to turn animal enemies to their side and brutally restrain their foes with conjured tendrils. At Level nine, they can get «Dominate Person» and «Telekinesis,» letting them manipulate humanoids and throw people and objects around freely.
At level six, Conjuration Wizards learn «Benign Transposition: Teleport,» allowing them to teleport to any unoccupied space within 9m or swap positions with an ally in that range. This can be good for getting the Wizard out of dangerous situations and putting a tankier ally in range of dangerous foes. Level 10 has Conjuration Wizards learn «Focused Conjuration.» This prevents the Wizard’s Concentration from being broken when concentrating on Conjuration Spells, which would be fantastic for preventing a lucky archer from canceling their summons if summons required concentration the way they do in the tabletop game. As this isn’t the case for most summons in the game, this tends to be extremely niche.
Level 6 gives you access to «Accursed Spectre» , which allows you to raise an allied spectre from a slain enemy who was under the effects of Hexblade’s Curse. Depending on the size of the enemy, you’ll get a Feeble Spectre, Mundane Spectre, or Primordial Spectre. Larger Spectres have a few extra skills, and all Spectres act as useful allies in combat who can teleport to cursed targets.
Collect The Protecty Sparkswall clothing from Grymforge in Act 1 for a bonus to Spell Save DCs and a boost to AC while you have lightning charges, which pairs well with The Spellsparkler Staff. If taking fighter or cleric levels, or playing as a race with inherent shield proficiency, players should also collect The Real Sparky Sparkswall (shield) at Grymforge for even more AC (this unfortunately cannot stack with the Bracers of Defense, but the synergy with lightning charges makes it worthwhile regardless.) Shield users can also get the Shield of Devotion from Talli in Act 2, gaining an extra level 1 spell slot and the ability to cast Aid once per long rest. In Act 3, players can swap this for the Shield of the Undevout or Viconia’s Walking Fortress instead.
While not always the strongest option, this can be used to activate spells like Blade Ward without giving up an attack. It can even be used to cast True Strike without giving up an attack, though this won’t make it useful mid-combat.
«Dread Ambusher: Hide» simply allows them to hide as a bonus action. «Umbral Shroud» allows them to become invisible as an action as long as they are obscured. «Superior Darkvision» allows the Gloom Stalker to see up to 24m in darkness without issue. They also automatically learn «Disguise Self» as a first level spell.
The Ring of Mental Inhibition is a great addition to your gear as a Swarmkeeper too. It’ll apply mental fatigue on your enemy whenever they fail a saving throw, which makes them worse at Wisdom, Intelligence, and Charisma saving throws until they fail one. Failing deals psychic damage to them and removes all stacks of mental fatigue. By pairing this with the Braindrain Gloves, the Strange Conduit Ring, and either the Sword of Screams or Voss’ Silver Sword, you can dish out a decent amount of damage. If you’re playing as a Githyanki, you can also make use of the Psionic Ward Armour and Boots of Psionic Movement to further empower this setup. The main downside to this is that there aren’t many ways for Rangers to force Wisdom, Intelligence, or Charisma saving throws, so you’ll need to rely on other members of your party to detonate the mental fatigue stacks.
