Roblox Wants the Game To Appeal To Adults, Not Just Kids
ROBLOX patch notes|https://robloxrealm.com/ was released in 2006 as a free-to-play game creation and hosting platform. The game has maintained its relevance since release, but it wasn’t until much later that it became the gaming craze it is today. While likened to Minecraft and other sandbox building games, Roblox is primarily used to host community-made games instead of offering a base experience. This makes Roblox a very user-focused experience because, without its users, there would be no ga
Roblox has been going from strength to strength over the last 12 months. It is now one of the most widely played games in the world and has slowly been expanding its demographic to include more older players. It makes sense that the developer would want to increase the age of its userbase, as older gamers generally have more money to spend, potentially increasing the revenue that Roblox can m
According to a company executive, Roblox will focus on creating more polished and complex experiences to help expand its audience beyond children and appeal to older players, as well. 2020 was a standout year for the popular game-meets-online creation tool. Robot 64 is a 3D platformer created by zKevin that takes inspiration from Super Mario 64 . Players control a robot named Beebo in search of ice cream cones they can use to unlock different worlds. On top of charming levels, players can unlock new cosmetic items by collecting coins. Each level is roughly the size of a world from Super Mario 64 , and players can freely explore and collect ice cream cones like Power Moons in Super Mario Odyssey . Players can use unique power-ups like skateboards and jetpacks, and Beebo’s moveset allows him to run on walls, backflip, and spin like a helicopter to get around each environm

Though the IRS removed the language that included gaming currencies (for now), it’s clear that it has realized the amount of money that can be leached from gamers if it moves forward with reporting requirements for purchased in-game currencies. Most gaming currencies function like gift cards: the currency is bought, and then can be used to buy in-game items. If the IRS moves forward with something like this, it would be like taxing a person’s income and then taxing them again for buying a gift card. That this language was on the IRS website at all was reckless, and more than a little bit ridiculous. Still, it does act as a sign that gamers, especially streamers who accumulate large amounts of virtual currencies, have a lot to worry about if the IRS decides to tax in-game mo
